O'Higgins sea trials

Delivered to the Chilean Navy in September 2005, the O’Higgins, first submarine of SCORPENE type, is a typical DCN design. This diesel-electric submarine performed all its sea trials in the Atlantic Ocean. The sea-outings have enabled DCN to validate all the high performances specified during the preliminary design phase and followed during the details design phase. The aim of this paper is to present how DCN has reached and checked the requested performances, for plat-form system and combat system.
