The study of naval propulsion structures requires to consider the phenomenons of fluid structure interaction. This necessity is a consequence of both technical and economical considerations linked up with the mastery of design margins. When the fluid and the structure domain satisfy the hypothesis of linearity, the solution of the coupled problem can be obtained with classical numerical techniques whose current use for industrial cases was made possible after a validation of a general finite element code. The numerical code ANSYS used by DCN Propulsion is validated by comparisons with numerical and experimental results. This allows in consequence a validation of the measure process used by DCN.
