Oil exploitation problems in more than 1000 metres of water production stream management

Hydrocarbon development in deep waters are contemplated more and more often in areas such as West Africa, Brazil, Gulf of Mexico or even Far East and Caspian Sea. To provide technical solutions adapted to these new needs, new technologies, made of sub-sea and floating systems, have been developed. One of the biggest difficulties related to this type of development is to make sure that the production stream can reach the floating support facility where it will be treated, without any real damage. Indeed, at 1000 metres of depth, the sea water temperature is closed to 4°C, and there are large risks of hydrate formation or wax appearance, if the technical issues are not well covered.
