The increased number and size of bulk carriers and oil tankers together with demand for higher speed and cost effective hull constructions as well as passenger comfort on croise vessels, is leading to a need for continuous hull strain mld motion monitoring, during ship operation.
Complete Systems for such needs shall include : measurement devices, analysis tools, control comrnand system.
This paper presents a monitoring system developed by SJREHNA including .
- a motion measurement system based on GPS Technology ,
- an allalysis tool devoted to the motion analysis,
- an analysis tool devoted tc the sea state estimation based on board measurements.
