50 years of naval innovations
Alain BOVIS - Président de l’ATMA, membre de l’Académie de Marine
The warships, either surface ships or submarines, have dramatically changed during the last fifty years, through several technological revolutions of comparable importance to those they have known during the previous one hundred fifty years. All areas of naval architecture were impacted, from hull shapes forms to powering plants, from stealth to combat systems. But the main feature of the modern ship is its extreme functional, physical, human and software integration which makes her today one of the most complex cyber-socio-physical systems and announces the digital revolution of the ship of the future.
