Although trawlers are already sophisticated fishing gears due to seamen experience, the scientific study of fishing nets is more and more required. Inside the actual economical and ecological situation, the goal is to increase their performance while preserving resources. Thanks to experimental means, in laboratories as well as in the sea, and to numerical simulations that can now be performed, our research team is able to bring an original and important contribution to improve trawlers.
