Predicting platform movements with lattice algorithms

The methods generally used for predicting platform movements require a precise modelling of the ship and the hull, followed by the construction of an extended KALMAN filter for the estimation and prediction.

We propose here to use a least square lattice algorithm for short term prediction of platform movements. The method seems to be quite adapted, since for short term predicting, a simple modelling of the process is sufficient. It is simple to use and fast.

We present results obtained on real and simulated data.
