Approximate method for calculation of seakeeping with forward speed

We describe here an approximate method for solving the sea keeping problem with forward speed. The tridimensional perturbation potential is calculated at zero forward speed with the period of encounter, but taking Into account of the mechanical coupling of motions with forward speed. When all the quantities are calculated at the first order in the relative axis. The results of these approximation are compared to experiment In towing tank with front waves for three types of hulls ( classical hull. catamaran, three-hull boat) for two speeds {a moderate speed and a high one) .For the moderate speed. the results are practically of the some quality as without forward speed. The results for a high speed show the Limit of this approximation .
