Unsteady flow computation in transonic turbines and compressors

This paper describes two and three dimensional calculation methods which apply to the flow computation in two blade-rows having different angular speeds. The Euler equations are solved using the classical predictor-corrector Mc Cormack scheme. The programs can be used in many cases involving time-dependent phenomena : mutual influence of two blade-rows, distortion problems, wake passage effects, aeroelasticity. After the programs are described, some computation results are shown and allowone to appreciate the potential of these methods for a detailed unsteady flow analysis.
