Rapid evolution in the development of offshore deepwater field developments has encouraged Sonangol and the operators of the Angolan deepwater block to ask ADC consortium to carry out the Multi Purpose Vessel study. The proposed article will develop the outcome of this study, including: a) Evaluation of the intervention needs on Subsea Production System equipment and Umbilical, Flowline and Riser systems for each Angolan deepwater block and for all fields in production or identified future field developments. This allows for inspection, maintenance and repair during operation as well as phased developments and additional production tie-back. b) Evaluation of the demand for well intervention work. c) Definition of the minimum functionality and characteristics required for the intervention vessels to carry out the work - including lifting and payload capabilities, ROV support facilities, deck surface, dynamic positioning and preliminary sizing - and drawing up of functional specifications for these. d) Review and evaluation of the current vessel market e) Analysis of the market demand and the alternative commercial strategies that could be used in Angola
