Fast strategy for the prevision of the fatigue strength of a cast alloy for high cycles: application to material for marine propellers

It is proposed to develop and to identify a probabilistic two-scale model for High Cycle Fatigue of cast alloys. The proposed approach accounts for the failure of samples but also for the thermal effects during cyclic loadings in a unified framework. A fast method of identification is then proposed. This method uses temperature measurements under cyclic loadings. The validation of the model is obtained by predicting S/N curves and the scatter in High Cycle Fatigue properties.
