Presentation of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle

This presentation of the program Charles de Gaulle gives the main mile stones; it gives a brief description of the main functions of the aircraft carrier and the principle of technical solutions used. The particularity of this programme will be pointed:

- safety required because cohabitation of aircraft, nuclear propulsion and weapons

- management of a large number of interfaces

The feedback of the trials at sea made in 1999 will be presented, on a technical and scientific point of view.

This carrier will be commissioned in a few month, an interesting feedback upon technical and risk management will be given.
