On cavitation or screw-propellers in non-axial flow

The cavitation problem is discussed, in a general form, pointing out the influence on the phenomenon of the geometric blade section properties and the fluid velocity. The variations of the fluid velocity are then determined in non-axial flow, utilizing the wing section theory. An equation is so determined which shows that the cavitation conditions can occur in non-axial flow for angular positions and cavitation indexes different from ones in axial flow A method, based on the wing section theory, is developed for the derivation of the cavitation limit conditions in non-axial flow by ones relative to axial flow
