Offshore fishfarming the SALMOR project

The Company SALMOR has developed and operates offshore the Brittany Coasts the ILE SOUS LE VENT, an advanced fishfarm vessel, to produce salmons.

This project is an example of the evolution of fishfarming first developed in sheltered waters of Norwegian fjords towards offshore operations and the control of farming conditions.

This paper deals with :

-farming aspects. farming under controlled environment, interaction with the environment,

-naval architecture. overall and local scantling, mooring in the Baie de Morlaix.

More generally, problems dealing with the conversion of existing marine structures in fishfarms.
