Aircraft operations on board of an aircraft carrier require small ship motions at landing spot and take off area.

To meet these seakeeping requirements, a stabilisation system including two rudders and four anti-rolling fins is studied. The design of such a system makes use of the mathematical modelling of hydrodynamic behaviour of the ships and her fins and rudders in order to optimize their configuration.

This mathematical model allows us to build up the algorithms of an automatic stabilization system using measured information on ship motions and sea state. An optimal control method based on state feed back command is presented and simulation results are presented .
