Calculation of drift forces on multi-bodies
G.DELHOMMEAU, Docteur- Ingénieur Laboratoire d' Hydrodynamique Naval ENSM -Nantes
The three-dimensionnal diffraction-radiation problem for multibodies is solved by a singularity method.
The amplitude of motions are determined by solving the Newton equations in which a set of linear springs can be introduced to simulate any possible elastic links between the bodies. Then, the singularity distribution kinematically equivalent to each body are known and the dynamic pressure in the fluid domain can be directly integrated to give the drift forces on each body.
The results are compared to those obtained by the Maruo-Newman formulation which gives only two horizontal forces and one vertical moment.
These comparisom have been made, for one body, in respect to the discretization, and for two bodies, in respect to their distance.
